About Me
"Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground".
-- Rumi

Hi! I am KB, a certified professional life and disaster recovery coach, a substance use disorder recovery coach/counselor and an adult care provider mentor. As a coach, I work with clients to maximize their potentials and transform their dreams into reality; as an adult care provider mentor, I work with North Carolina approved Family Care Home administrators to understand licensure rules and regulations, as well as with meeting licensing requirements, and I serve as an administrator for the purpose of training preceptors. As a mentor, I also work with family members caring for loved ones diagnosed with dementia to understand better how to communicate with people with dementia; I also work with them to find long-term services, support programs and resources to meet the overall needs of both the care recipient as well as the care provider. I am happiest when I am helping others in my capacity as either a coach or mentor because helping others is a part of my innate heritage.
Contact me, and allow me the honor of working with you. I will guide you in identifying any obstacles, problems or hang-up from your past that might be hindering or preventing you from maximizing your potential and living a meaningful life. Albert Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it.” Whatever situation you are facing, I can help you rise to a new consciousness. I can help you adopt a new way of thinking about the situation and a new approach to resolving the issue. Carl Jung said, “Every problem…forces us to greater consciousness.” As your coach, I have the right questions to lead you in rising to a new consciousness.

I help women who are at crossroads and need someone to listen to and understand what they are experiencing. I have much experience with which to guide you, as a certificated professional life and recovery coach or as an adult care provider mentor. With an academic background in psychology and gerontology, I am knowledgeable about and understand the biological, sociological, psychological and spiritual changes people, especially women, experience during young adulthood, midlife, and old age. I have completed a doctoral degree in Humanistic, Existential, and Transpersonal psychology, with a specialization in Jungian psychology, at Saybrook University Graduate School. Prior to enrolling at Saybrook, I earned a Master of Science degree in gerontology from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington, North Carolina. Throughout my academic studies, I have been self-employed for over 25 years as an adult care home administrator, a geriatric care consultant and life coach. I manage a residential care facility for adults with physical disabilities or dementia; assist older adults in finding long-term services and support programs to meet their physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs; and coach adults care provider in moving beyond the overwhelming feelings and experiences of providing care for a loved one. Having coached adults throughout my profession, I decided to become certified as a professional life and recovery coach. I also decided I should utilize my professional experiences and educational background to provide a service to help adults, especially women, to live a more meaningful life by restoring truth, balance, order and harmony to their lives. Contact me and let’s count the years as days as we work together focusing on the present, understanding the past and moving forward in the direction of a new consciousness. I believe that my academic background in combination with work experiences have provided me with the experience and expertise needed to meet you at your crossroads, help you examine your life choices and make the best decision.
